We hope you are all enjoying your summer break! 

A reminder that classes resume for 2014 soon. Both Junior and Senior classes will continue to be held at St Richard's Parish Hall.

  • Junior classes commence Saturday February 15th at 2pm. 
  • Senior classes commence Tuesday February 11th at 7:30pm. 

Note: If the predicted high temperature for the day exceeds 36°C, then classes will be cancelled for the day.

If you're new to the Greek Lyceum and would like to join, simply fill out our enrolment form and send it back to us.

We look forward to a very busy and productive 2014!

20th Anniversary Concert

/ Nazareth Catholic College/

The Greek Lyceum 20th Anniversary Concert was held at Nazareth Catholic College (Secondary Campus), Flinders Park on the 7th December 2013.

The concert featured a wonderful array of dances from all over Greece and the Diaspora, with songs and traditional tunes as well as cultural displays celebrating life as a Greek-Australian from birth through to marriage, migration and settlement. 

Featuring the junior and senior ensembles of the Greek Lyceum of South Australia together with St Dimitrios Dance Group Salisbury, South Melbourne Greek Dancers and Pyrrhic Cultural Association.

20th Anniversary Reception held at Parliament House

A most excellent and memorable acknowledgement of 20 years of Greek Lyceum service to the South Australian community by the Hon. Jennifer Rankine (Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Minister of Education and Child Development) at the Balcony Room, Parliament House on Thursday 5th December 2013. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of the Greek Lyceum over the last 20 years.

Glendi 2013

Another incredible Glendi performance today by both the junior and senior students of the Greek Lyceum today! After last minute changes to the programme and some technical issues, the old saying "the show must go on" echoed true today. It was amazing to see how well all the students performed as a united school today. We're all very proud of you all!

The Greek Lyceum of SA today performed at the Dimitria Festival held at the Hellenic Macedonian Cultural Centre. The weather was beautiful, the food was great and best of all the junior and senior performances were fantastic!

Both the junior and senior groups today performed wonderfully well at the Multicultural SA Festival held at Rundle Mall. It was a great opportunity to participate in the vibrant multicultural life we celebrate here in SA.

20th Birthday Celebrations!

Our next event for our 20th Anniversary Year is our Birthday Dinner Dance to be held on the 19th October at the Chian Association Hall, 73 Grand Junction Road, Rosewater.

Performance at the Serbian Folkloric Festival

The Greek Lyceum performed today at the Serbian Folkloric Festival, held at St Sava Hall on Port Rd, Woodville.

It was a wonderful performance today by all the students! The reception from all at the festival was outstanding. A great time was had by all!

Performance this Sunday!

/ Sebian Community Centre/

Our Junior School students will be performing this Sunday at the Serbian Oplenac Festival! Come and support the students and enjoy an offering of local, interstate and international Serbian performers, music, dance and food!

Date: Sunday 1st September

Location: Serbian Community Centre, 675 Port Road, Woodville.  

Time: 3pm

Term 3 Classes Begin!

Classes for Term 3 begin today!

Junior School classes start today. It's not too late to enrol your children! We have classes from 4 years and up! Enrol online via our webpage, or enrol in class.

Time: 2pm-4pm (class times depend on child's age)

Place: St Richard's Parish Hall, corner of Henley Beach Road and May Terrace, Lockleys.

 

Senior School classes start Tuesday 30th July.  

Time: 7:15pm

Place: St Richard's Parish Hall, corner of Henley Beach Road and May Terrace, Lockleys.

 

Both Senior School and Junior School classes encompass a wide range of traditional dances from Greece and the Diaspora as well as a focus on modern and laika dances.

Time changes to Saturday classes

St Richard’s Hall is unavailable from 2pm for the following dates and will run from 3:30 - 5:30 pm instead:

  • 10th August
  • 31st August 
  • 23rd November 

  • Juniors 3:45-4:45pm 
  • Intermediates 4:15 – 5:15pm 
  • New Generation 4:45 – 5:45pm

There will be no class on Saturday 17th August. There will be a substitute class on Tuesday, 13th August from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
